Kinetic sculptures are human-powered, all-terrain sculptures made from new and repurposed materials, engineered to race over streets, water, mud, and sand. LKSR strives to inspire artists, engineers, performers, and visionaries of the future by promoting the synthesis of the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) fields, disruptive innovation, and physical activity.
The schedule of events includes:
9:00 – 11:00 AM - Meet the Machines
11:00 AM - Opening Ceremonies
11:30 AM - Start the Race
12:00 PM - Maddening Mud Pit
12:00 - 4:00 PM - Family Fun Zone - Food trucks, music and games
1:30 PM - Merrimack Plunge
3:00 - 4:30 PM - Finish line
5:00 PM - LKSR Block Party and Awards Ceremony @ Warp and Weft
