Description
Chelmsford's 4th of July Parade is certainly one of the states finest. More than fifty years of continuous parades mean a lot of local tradition. From the lights and sounds of the fire trucks and emergency vehicles that roll down North Rd to our veterans and dignitaries, marching bands, floats and minutemen, we love our parade!
Many in the community have their traditional spots, often visible the day before the parade with their chairs lined up on the curb. For others it is a new experience. The parade starts each year at McCarthy school, rain or shine at 10am and usually ends at the center of town at noon. The first 1.5 miles of the parade route are generally not too crowded and offer great views. When the parade crosses Rt 495 things get more crowded as they approach the common and the reviewing stand. The parade continues through the center and doesn't end until it gets to Adams Library so many good spots to be a spectator for sure!
