Ready for an epic summer adventure? The Story School presents Camp FABLE and Camp Grimoire, two magical eduLARP overnight camps nestled in the enchanting woods of Nature’s Classroom in Charlton, MA. These immersive camps combine interactive storytelling, live-action quests, and a touch of nerdy fun for an unforgettable experience. With a 1:4 staff-to-camper ratio, our team of educators, counselors, game designers, and actors bring legendary tales to life, keeping campers spellbound from sunrise to s’mores.
By day, campers become heroes in adventuring parties, “leveling up” their in-game and real-world skills. Inspired by history, mythology, and literature, our live-action role-playing games sneak in STEAM learning and social skills through foam sword battles, story-driven challenges, and escape room puzzles. Capes and costumes come off in the evening for bonding with campfire stories, board games, and fun all-camp activities.
The 2025 season runs June 29–August 14 with two-week sessions. Camp FABLE invites adventurers ages 8–17 for all-ages quests, while Camp Grimoire is tailored for teens 14–18. New heroes can try our one-week Camp FABLE program, and seasoned adventurers can join the Counselor-in-Training (CiT) program.
We proudly serve neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, and “nerdy” campers from all backgrounds. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we offer scholarships to ensure every hero can join the fun.

Business Review
"It's clear that kids feel like they are in an accepting place with similarly minded peers. Also, a very happy first time overnight camper this year, loved being able to find a camp for a child that wouldn't enjoy the more traditional experience. Story School is very welcoming of neurodiversity, and the kids feel like they belong." - Marina Levit, Google Review
"I was a camper for four years (and am now a counselor!) and I cannot recommend this camp enough. It did so much for my self-confidence and self-efficacy with its focus on community and autonomy-based learning. The summers I've been able to spend at this camp have been some of the most enriching and enjoyable times of my life. If you have an opportunity to send your child to this camp, DO IT! It will change their life!" Grace Wiberg-Pichetti, Google Review
"My kids thrived at camp! For one of them, it was their first sleep-away camp. Becoming their characters, using STEAM-centric knowledge to succeed in challenges, having to brainstorm with the other hero campers, and learn from in-game failures was all an incredible and enriching experience."
