Celebrating 25 years in Tewksbury, The Self-Defense Institute, www.tsdiOnLine.com, continues to be recognized for exemplary teaching, leadership in the community and a commitment to Excellence.

Established in 1999 by Shihan Deb and Shihan Jeff, they take pride in providing students of all ages with a path to discipline and self-esteem.  Training is a "healthy lead" for students' mind, body, and spirit, as they balance academic studies, employment and family values.  Over the years the students' diverse goals have ranged from personal growth to mental/physical self-discipline/confidence.

Classes are offered to children of ages 3.5 - 18 years and adults.  The principles of the training put each student on the great road of achievement and self-respect.  Many cross train to increase muscle tone, balance, coordination, agility/flexibility, confidence, patience, focus, self-control, pride and energy levels.

Monthly tuition is $119.  No Contracts.

Business Review

“In addition to improved physical conditioning, balance, flexibility, strength, and coordination, I think the changes in my life due to my martial arts training include: a positive attitude, patience, perseverance, and self-confidence, with a great deal of respect for myself and others.”  —male, age 17, high school student

"The Self-Defense Institute's instructors keep the classes interesting and challenging by constantly instructing new things to learn.  I have thanked my instructors for the opportunity to improve my health and physical abilities - bike riding and aerobics were getting old and I needed a new activity.  I received more then a new activity.  I received a program that has developed my ability to keep up with my children.  My energy level has soared since training with The Self-Defense Institute."  -- female age 32, corporate employee

"My teachers have helped me cope with the "bullies."  I no longer look at myself as a loser, but as a person who cares about everyone.  As I get stronger muscles, my mind is getting clearer.  I have learned to respect my teachers and my family, not because I look stronger, but I feel stronger with my thoughts.  My teachers taught us that "If you say you can, then you will!"  Classes are fun and I've learned a lot how to deal with the bullies, and that respect and honesty are very important parts of life."  -- age 11
