Fayette Street Playground in Lowell is a small park with a good mix of things to do. I recently brought my five-year-old son here on a Friday afternoon, and we had the place to ourselves.
The park is fully fenced in with mulch. There’s one bench inside the playground area, and more located alongside the adjacent basketball court.
My son loves to climb anything and everything, so the arched climbing wall was his favorite part. He spent a good ten minutes perfecting his climb.
There’s a balance beam and stepping pods leading to the main play structure, which has an ABC ramp as well as a double slide.
There aren’t any swings here, but my son didn’t even notice because he was too busy with the spinner bowls and pretend drive-through station.
I like that it’s enclosed and small enough that I never lost sight of him. You can park right on the street and just walk up a few steps to get in. It’s a simple spot where you don't have to deal with a big crowd. We'll definitely be back when he needs to burn off some energy!
