Grotonwood is a welcoming and affirming Christian summer camp and retreat center based in central Massachusetts. Our home is the quaint and peaceful town of Groton, which is only 1 hour from Boston, 45 minutes from Lowell, and 30 minutes from Nashua.
We offer both day and overnight camp programs on our beautiful lakeside campus. Grotonwood’s unique amenities include a full size gymnasium with a climbing wall and plenty of space for basketball, volleyball, and other physical activities; a 1.5 mile waterfront on Lost Lake for daily swim blocks; and a lovely chapel that campers visit each day for “chapel time.”

Grotonwood also features miles of wooded trails for hiking and mountain biking, a low‑ and high‑ropes challenge course, an archery range, multiple campfire areas, and a sports field with a baseball diamond and soccer goals. We have a variety of bunking options and a dining hall that serves over 200 campers and staff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Our Day Camp program is a trusted summer resource for many local families, offering full day care in a safe, active, and nurturing environment while parents work. We are proud to offer both full five-day sessions and “Flexi Days,” wherein families can sign up for single days of camp whenever it works best for them.
Our Overnight Camp provides a classic camp adventure: a chance to build independence, make new friends, and enjoy a week that feels like a vacation, respite, and rite of passage all at once.
TYPICAL CAMP ACTIVITIES: Typical activities include daily supervised swimming, archery, high and low ropes, Segways, biking, boating and kayaking, tubing, blobbing, sports, talent shows, fishing, relay races, wilderness survival skills-building, chapel time, and messy games!

FAITH-BASED ACTIVITIES: We plan our faith-based programming on the assumption that most campers are experiencing a Christian environment for the first time. Practical activities include group prayer, mostly before each meal. During chapel, campers will have the opportunity to learn action songs and learn about a different bible story each day. Chapel is highly engaging, age appropriate, and fun! Our overnight campers also enjoy evening vespers, which are short, reflective evening services. Participation in faith-based activities is voluntary, and campers do not have to be affiliated with any religious organization to take part. We simply ask that campers and families respect the Christian values we uphold and we meet each camper wherever they are at in their spiritual walk. We encourage curiosity, tolerance and respect through open discussion using Christianity as our foundation and springboard for understanding.
