At the beginning of your visit, children are given a scavenger hunt to fill out. Older kids receive one filled with questions about the things they see and learn throughout the museum, and younger kids are given one with photos to check off of things they see during their visit. There is a lot to learn here, and this is a great way to keep kids entertained and engaged, and encourages them to learn and explore all these museum has to offer.

The museum is spacious and well constructed, with each section arranged chronologically by each different war. The entire experience flowed, from the mini films at the beginning of the museum all the way to the 9/11 memorial section toward the end.

The museum has countless actual items from major events and periods in history such as a steel beam from one of the twin towers, a piece of the Berlin Wall, and even a restored World War II era rail car. It was really cool to be able to experience seeing all these up close, and each exhibit brings a newfound appreciation for all our country has been through.

There was also an actual jail cell for prisoners of wars which showed guests how they were treated back then and how hard they fought to survive, which was really sad but incredibly eye-opening and a piece of history that is important to learn.
You can also see what the inside of tanks looked like, and (although pricey) the museum even offers booking a special ride in one of their tanks.

The staff is so friendly and full of even more fun facts and knowledge that they are happy to share. They seemed genuinely glad to answer any questions guests had.
I would definitely say this museum is geared toward older children, in order to get the full learning experience. However I brought my four year old in addition to my older kids, and he had a blast as well. Younger kids who like big trucks and planes are bound to enjoy it here as well. I’d recommend this museum for adult history buffs too. It’s really a museum for all.
This educational museum is an incredible preservation of American history. The exhibits are impressive to say the least, and the museum is a definite must visit for every family.
