Our patented School of Rock Method and “Performance-Based” music curriculum uses a combination of one-on-one lessons, group rehearsals, and live performances to teach students how to play rock music. The program is designed to prepare students for live performances at real music venues.

Our revolutionary educational music program has been awarded a U.S. patent, making the School of Rock Method available nowhere else. The School of Rock Method builds musical proficiency through our proprietary Method App, Method Book collection, SongFirst approach, and performance-based music curriculum. The School of Rock Method has been refined and perfected over 25 years, culminating in a music learning system with a proven track record of success.
Our rock programs for kids and beginners are designed to inspire students to learn and get them on stage performing, with the goal of building strong musical proficiency. Students ages 3-7 participate in our Little Wing and Rookies programs, where they learn the fundamentals of music, tonality, rhythm and performance.
Students ages 8-12 can begin Rock 101 with or without previous experience. The goal of this program is to quickly develop a basic competence on the student’s chosen instrument (guitar, bass, piano/keyboards drums and vocals) before moving on to our renowned Performance Program.
The Performance Program at School of Rock is our hallmark music program, where tens of thousands of students aged 13-18 enroll each year. Our Performance Program consists of a weekly group rehearsal where kids and teens learn by playing rock music's most iconic songs with a group of their peers. The goal of the Performance Program is to prepare kids and teens for live performances. Every few months School of Rock Performance Program students take the stage and play at local music venues in front of a live audience. And for those “kids at heart”, we offer a similar adult performance program for ages 18 to 118.
But School of Rock is about so much more than just music. Teaching life lessons is a big part of what we do at School of Rock. On the surface it may look like kids are just learning to play their favorite songs, but they take away a lot more than that. Students build self-confidence, self-esteem, teamwork skills, and a sense of personal responsibility as they prepare for live shows. By taking the focus off the individual and creating a team dynamic, students enjoy a more supportive, rewarding, and motivating environment in which to learn.
