Dracut is home to many great parks, and Dillon-McAnespie Park is no exception. With immaculate baseball fields, multiple sports courts, a playground, and a paved walking path, this park has it all!
My kids and I visited the playground on a Sunday afternoon and had it to ourselves; however the basketball court was full and there were a handful of people walking around the path and enjoying the day. There are multiple benches, trash receptacles, and even lights along the path which I thought was a great addition. The park does not have any stairs and is handicap accessible.
The playground itself is nicely kept and spacious, and most importantly really fun! The park is equipped with swings and slides, plus webs, rock walls, and monkey bars to climb. One of the structures has a musical theme, which my son really enjoyed.
It is easy to take in nature as your kids play. There are grassy areas as well as several different types of flowers decorating the outer edge of the park, which is a protected wildlife area. This was my favorite part!
The parking lot is large and on the opposite side from the playground are the basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts. The courts were crowded on the day we went with a couple of games going on, which is great to see that even older teenagers and young adults can enjoy this space as well. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
We really enjoyed this park and will be back to visit again. Whether you’re looking to get some energy out at the playground, play or practice sports, or enjoy the weather and take a nice walk, this park is a go-to.
