The O’Donnell Park splash pad located just next to the Shaughnessey School in Lowell is the perfect way to enjoy the summer sun and cool down and have some fun! My kids and I recently visited this splash pad for the first time, and it was a great time.

The splash pad is open daily from 12:00-4:00pm. We got there just a few minutes after they opened, and there were only a couple of other families there. Within an about an hour, the place was bustling. The arched sprinkler seemed to be a favorite for most of the kids there, including my son.

There are a variety of different sprinkler stations throughout the fenced in park, and it is all spread out enough that even when it's crowded there is still plenty of space to run around.

Until August 16th, free lunch is offered at the splash park Monday through Fridays from 1:30-2:00pm through the Summer Eats program. On the day we went, they were giving out turkey and cheese wraps, yogurt, chips, and chocolate milk.

There are picnic tables, and you are able to bring your own chairs to sit along the edge of the park as well if all of the tables are taken. The park is fenced in with only one entrance/exit.

There is on street parking as well as a parking lot. Located just across the parking lot, there is a playground at the Shaughnessy School, so you can enjoy both play areas in the same trip. This is sure to be a go-to spot for us for some quick summer fun!
