At Good Pickin' Farm, we have experiential hands on activities and education for all ages.
Preschool Programs:
- Mornings on the Farm (age 18 months - 5) is a care-giver + child class for age 18 months to 5 years that runs Monday to Wednesday at 10am for an hour. Drop in for $12 per class or sign up for the whole session for $10/class! Each day is something different around the farm - it could be planting in the garden, or reading a story about goats and going for a mini goat hike, yoga on the farm, or doing a bunny art craft in the bunny pen and playing with the bunnies!
- Acres of Fun (age 2.9 - 5) is an EEC licensed nature-based preschool program, for ages 2.9 - 5 years. Choose between 1/2 day or full day programs for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week. At Acres of Fun we believe that children are born naturalists with an innate curiosity and eagerness to learn about themselves and the world around them. They explore the world with all of their senses, experiment in the environment, and communicate their discoveries to the people who love and care for them. Children learn best when they are interested and engaged, while accompanied by warm, stable and caring educators and caretakers. We believe children have the right to an education that fosters respect for nature and each other.
Good Pickin' Farm Schools:
- The School House is a multi-age micro school with an indoor/outdoor classroom meeting all of the state academic requirements for children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. School work is cross-disciplinary and project-based with the children learning from each other in addition to their teachers. Along with academics, day-to-day activities include animal care, art, music, nature and goat hikes, yoga, and more. This is the perfect learning environment for the curious and active child who wants more than a traditional school can offer. School runs Monday - Friday 9am-3pm and follows the Westford Public Schools calendar.
- Fascination for Farming is our after school program. It's like summer farm camp all year long! Classes run after school - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday. Each day the children will get to snuggle with the animals and participate in farm chores, play in the natural playground and more! Sign up for one day at a time, or the whole session. Transportation is included from Westford Public Schools, on our cow bus Mootilda!
- Farm to Forest, our homeschool drop-off program for ages 5-13 is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - sign up for 1-4 days per week! At Farm to Forest, they days will be primarily outdoors, experiential, hands-on and multidisciplinary. Our curriculum can be one day projects or multiple weeks as children dive deeply into different experiences around the farm and in nature.
Weekend Fun on the Farm:
- Come to Fall Farm Days for PYO pumpkins, hayrides, animals, apple cider and more!
- Harvest Fest & Cow Poopapalozza at Good Pickin' Farm will be held September 16th with hayrides, petting zoo, face painting, music and more!
- Come to Oktoberfest October 14th for PYO pumpkins, pony rides, vendors, food, petting zoo, bonfire, hayrides, tours and much more!
- You won't want to miss Not-So-Haunted Halloween Family Farm Day on October 29th. Activities include treat hay rummage, music, petting zoo, costumed animals, costume parade, prizes, scavenger hunt and bonfire!
- Save the Date: Holiday Lights Fest November 25th and Farm Festival of Lights: November 26th - December 17th !!!
- Visit the farm for a private, up close Barnyard Brush farm tourand meet the farm animals!
