Fall 2022 STEM Programs at Snapology of North Chelmsford

Use code MACKID10 to save 10%

August 22, 2022

Come learn how to design a video game, build and program robotic machines, fly drones, and create amusement parks and transportation cities in Snapology’s STEAM programs!  Fall 2022 programs are now enrolling in North Chelmsford, starting September 13.

At Snapology, we believe that academic enrichment, social development, and FUN can happen simultaneously.  We do this by guiding children ages 5+ through purposely designed activities using LEGO® bricks, K’Nex, tablets, computers, and other favorite toys.  Each of our programs is designed to provide your child with a fun, creative learning experience that will strengthen their love of engineering.

THEMED PROGRAMS:

  • Pokemania (Wednesday 4 - 5 PM) (Age 5 - 10): Students will build and explore the world of Pokemon as they create their own gyms, battles, and even their very own generation of Pokemon. Children will also learn about real world science as they learn about the habitats of the Pokemon.
  • Snapology's Animation Studio (Thursdays 5 - 6 PM) (Age 7 - 12): Come create amazing movies with stop motion animation using LEGO® bricks!! Children will work individually or in teams to produce their very own movie complete with dialogue and sound effects. Movies are uploaded to a secure site for family and friends to see how cool they are!
  • Jedi Masters (Tuesdays 4 - 5 PM) (Ages 5 - 10): In this Star Wars®-inspired program, your youngling will explore the galaxy with their master building skills and our intergalactically-focused curriculum. Motivated to become Jedi like the heroes in the movies, students will learn to concentrate on mastering the Force, appreciating the use of teamwork to build battle drones and AT-Walkers, and if their skills are up to par, make their very own lightsaber and use it in battle!

ROBOTICS PROGRAMS:

  • Creature Creator Robotics (Thursdays 4 - 5 PM) (Ages 6 -11): Your animal lover will create their own animal inspired robotic models. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming as they build insects, dolphins, gorillas, and much more.
  • Real World Robotics (Tuesdays 6 - 7 PM) (Ages 6 - 12): Students interested in technology will create robotic models inspired by real life robotic technologies. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming as they build alarm devices, earthquake detectors, robotic arms, and much more.
  • KinderBots Robotics (Tuesdays 4 - 5 PM) (Ages 4 - 6): Children will begin to explore the world of robotics as they build simple models that teach the fundamentals of robotic design. Whether learning about sensors while building drills and magic wands, or discovering ways that gears and pulleys create movement while building helicopters and robotic dogs, your child is sure to have a great time.
  • AttackBot Robotics (Wednesdays 5 - 6 PM) (Ages 7 - 12): Students will build a variety of military-inspired robots that will respond to their programmed commands. While working with a partner to solve the various challenges, your student will be challenged to understand how to effectively utilize a sensor, how different mechanical components can alter the power and speed of their machine, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with games and challenges using the robots their build with their partner.

ENGINEERING PROGRAMS:

  • Amusement Park Adventures Engineering (Tuesdays 5 - 6 PM) (Age 6-11): Design your own amusement park in this super fun program! Learn how to use LEGO® bricks and other building materials to make coasters and other awesome rides.
  • Brick Art and Design Lab (Wednesdays 6 - 7 PM) (Age 5 - 12): In this workshop, students will learn all about the importance of collaboration, careful planning, and skillful execution of their building plans.
  • Scientists (Tuesdays 5 - 6 PM) (Age 6 - 11): Allow your child to cultivate their love of science and experience different domains of science & nature. Students will engage in concepts from astronomy, earth science, biology, chemistry and physics using LEGO® bricks and other interactive learning tools.
