Camp Grotonwood Day and Overnight Camp in Groton MA

Summer is fast approaching and Grotonwood Summer Camp is ramping up preparations for an epic summer season. Grotonwood is an award winning traditional Christian camp and conference center located in the quaint town of Groton MA. The camp welcomes campers of all backgrounds, faiths, ethnicities and gender identities. As a nonprofit, Grotonwood has partnered with many organizations over the years including Project new Hope, DCF, and Epilepsy Foundation New England in its mission to make camp an equitable experience for all God’s children. The camp continues to serve under-resourced communities like kids in foster care, military families and neurotypical youth ages 5 to 16 through its day and overnight camping programs. They also host a thriving overnight camping program for adults with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is their commitment to be a resource to all people, encouraging faith exploration, social connection and fun in an awesome natural environment. Their varied programs and facilities give way to beautiful encounters, lifelong learning experiences and relationship building.


Day camp sessions run from June 17 to August 9 with the option of parents signing for the full week or single days that work with their own schedule.  Each week of day camp has a special theme, including ‘Where it all began", Christmas in July, Neon Glow, and Global Adventure. Day camp tuition includes a hot lunch, daily supervised swim, and afternoon snack with standard drop-off being 8:30 AM and pick-up at 5 PM daily. They have the option of both breakfast and dinner club to extend the day at camp. Campers are usually divided into ages 5-7, 8-10 and 11-12, giving campers age-appropriate programming. Week-long overnight camps are offered from July 7 to August 9, 2024 for children age 7-16.  With check-in occurring each Sunday between 2-4pm and check out occurring on Fridays between 4:30-5:15pm. Sessions vary in theme and focus from the traditional camp experience of Quest Camp to the thrill of off-campus adventures to places like Canobie Lake Park during Waddaweek! Trips Camp. For the creatives among us Grotonwood offers Create! Camp - an oasis of self-dictated concentrations in areas like culinary arts, fine art, performing arts and engineering. In addition to signing up to a themed week of camp that suits the interest of the camper, each cohort enjoys a bevy of traditional and not so traditional outdoor activities such as daily swim on the shores of Lost Lake, Segways tubing, Gaga ball, sports, daily chapel and bible study, cool large group games such as Safari which is played among 250 acres of private woodlands, dodgeball, glow in the dark capture the flag, a low ropes challenge course, indoor rock wall, fishing, arts and crafts, wilderness survival workshops, mountain biking and hiking, boating and performing arts classes. New for 2024 is the addition bouldering as an outdoor activity, a build-a-bear style workshop and a fleet of remote controlled cars and monster trucks that can be used inside or outside depending on the New England weather!

Grotonwood’s annual Open House is on Sunday May 5th from 1 - 4pm - Open House is a fun, free and illuminating day for prospective campers and their families to visit camp and enjoy some authentic hospitality. Attendees will have to the opportunity to tour the camp facilities, participate in some camp activities like pontoon boat rides and crafts, enjoy a free cook out, soft-serve and milk & cookie bar!
