By Barbara Evangelista, Publisher July 1, 2020

Do your kids love outdoor activities?  Learning about local wildlife and exploring nature?

Here are four free online programs run by different local organizations that will engage your nature-loving child this Summer!

River Quest by Nashua River Watershed Association

July 15 to August 5

Age 8-11

This program is designed to introduce families to the wonders of life in and around our waterways while getting outdoors for some quality exploration and discovery.  The program will include a weekly one-hour virtual gathering for learning, planning and sharing.  Children will be provided with online supporting materials and a weekly exploration of local waterways to complete with their family.

Nature Observations with Tsongas Industrial History Center and Lowell National Historical Park

July 8 to August 12

All ages

The LNHP rangers will share with you ideas and activities for exploring nature in an urban environment and recording your observations.  The first week is focused on your nature observation kit, and subsequent weeks will be focused on trees and plants, wildlife, and additional nature topics.  A limited number of supply kits are available for local participants.

30 Earth Month Activities from the Umbrella Arts Center

Explore water with 30 outdoor water-focused activities from the Musketaquid Arts & Environment program.  Make water-related crafts at home, learn about animals that live on, in or near the water, explore local waterways and much more.  Self-directed.

Virtual Riverfest Kids Activities
