Family Volunteer Project: Mother's Day Gift Bags for the Wish Project

March 27, 2019

Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer with your children?  The Wish Project has a kid-friendly volunteer project that will help many local moms struggling with homelessness, poverty and abuse.  They are coordinating a Mother's Day Gift Bag project with the goal of assembling 500 gift bags to give to local women in shelters in Lowell, Lawrence and Haverhill.  More than 85% of the clients The Wish Project serves are women and children who are struggling with a life-altering crisis that has ended in homelessness.  These families live in shelters while they work to make a better life for their children.  They train for new jobs and pursue education, with extremely limited resources.  Let's recognize and honor these women with a special Mother's Day gift bag!

You can help by donating complete bags by April 27 (see below for suggested contents), collecting or purchasing goods for bags, fundraising and donating money, or attending a Mother's Day Gift Bags event at UnchARTed in Lowell on Saturday, April 13, from 2-5 PM.  Bags will be assembled at the April 14th event -- bring your items to donate and come help assemble bags, decorate cards, and draw pictures.
