Register Now for the Spring Healthy Kids Running Series in Tewksbury

February 27, 2019

Does your child love to run?  The Healthy Kids Running Series, a national organization that inspires kids ages 2-14 to race towards a healthier lifestyle, is launching its Spring series at Chapel Field at Tewksbury Hospital starting April 28, 2019.  The Healthy Kids Running Series is designed to get kids active, build self-esteem and lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

Kids enrolled in the Healthy Kids Running Series participate in a five-week program with age-appropriate race distances.  Kids compete each week for a chance to earn points, and at the end of the Series, the top boy and girl with the most points in their respective age division earn a trophy. All participants receive a finishers medal, race bag and Healthy Kids Running Series T-shirt for their achievements.  The cost for the five-week program is $35.

The Healthy Kids Running Series inspires its participants to live an active lifestyle through goal setting and dedication. It was founded in 2009 with the goal of combating increasing rates of childhood obesity through the introduction of running. What began in West Chester, PA, now operates in upwards of 250 communities across the country.

“Healthy Kids Running Series is designed to get kids active and lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle,” says the organization's founder Jeff Long. “The most rewarding part is seeing young boys and girls and their families gather each week to compete and achieve their goals and celebrate with their friends."
