Featured Camp: Camp Grotonwood

March 7, 2018

Grotonwood is located in central Massachusetts, just forty minutes north of Boston. In addition to signing up to a themed week that suits their interest, campers enjoy a bevy of activities such as daily swim on our beach which fronts onto Lost Lake, tubing, Gaga, sports clinics, daily chapel and bible study, cool large group games such as Safari which is played among our 250 acres of woodlands, dodge Ball in our gymnasium, glow in the dark capture the flag and alpha wolf, we have a low ropes challenge course, campers can climb our indoor rock wall, fishing, arts and crafts, wilderness survival workshops, mountain biking and hiking, boating and performing arts classes. Campers also visit our Country Store every other day to enjoy a refreshing soda and a piece of candy. On Friday’s merchandise can also be purchased to commemorate their stay!

It gives us great pleasure to announce that our bible-themed curriculum for 2018 is 'Royalty'. We will be sharing from the book of 1 Peter 2:9, which quotes, 'But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light'. As we explore what it means to be heirs to Christ’s kingdom, we will come to understand what it means to be kings and queens in training, learning how to be lead by heart and humility, and that we are blessed to be a blessing. The theme shapes our daily chapel services, bible studies and camp decor.

Both Day and overnight camps have weekly themes such as Adventure, Aquarama, Sports or Arts, these weeks are tailored to serve individual interests and to keep things exciting for returning campers! - Check out the summary of weekly programs in our selection of pictures, these include descriptions and rates. Check-in for overnight camping is on Sundays between 2-4pm and check out is on Fridays between 6-7pm. For campers who wish to sandwich together two weeks of camp without going home in between, we also offer Hold-Over’ weekends. Our brochure is available for download here: http://grotonwood.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Brochure-2018.pdf and provides a great overview of the whole summer.
