Celebrate Winter at Lowell Winterfest this weekend! This annual festival takes place all day Saturday from 12 PM to 10 PM and includes all kinds of fun, including kids activities, live music, entertainment, food, and a winter market. Attend the Macaroni KID Summer Camp & Kids Activities Fair in Pepperell starting at 10 AM and then head over to Lowell for Winterfest fun!
2026 Attractions:
MUSIC: A variety of bands will perform in the Rockland Trust Music Tent at 222 Merrimack Street on Saturday from 12 to 9:45 PM. See the performance schedule.
FOOD VENDORS: Food trucks will be set up on Middle Street across from Rockland Trust or visit one of the many downtown Lowell eateries.
ENTERTAINMENT: Enjoy arts & crafts, ice carving, Cirque de Light fire performances, roving performers, a giant Lite Brite, and other activities all day Saturday on Middle, Palmer and Merrimack Streets. See the schedule.
ART MARKET: Stop into the Experience Lowell Arts Market inside the Rockland Trust Arts Tent at 222 Merrimack St on Saturday from 12-8 PM to shop from dozens of artisans and crafters.
SCAVENGER HUNT: Get the whole family involved in the Winterfest Scavenger Hunt! Download the Goosechase app and follow the scavenger hunt instructions to compete. Register soon -- a limited number of teams and individual spots are available!
ICE SCULPTURES: See ice sculptors at work on Palmer St all day Saturday.
SOUP COMPETITION: The annual Richard Rourke Memorial Soup Competition takes place on Saturday February 28 from 12-2:30 PM in the Lowell Masonic Center, 65 Arcand Drive. Local restaurants and organizations serve delicious soups and chowders. Try them all and vote for your favorite! Tickets are $5 each and are available at the door. CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL: St. Anne's Episcopal Church at 8 Kirk St is holding their annual Chocolate Festival on Saturday, February 28, from 11 AM to 4 PM. $12 admission for all the chocolate you can eat. Kids age 5-12 are $7, under 5 are free with a paying adult.
CURLING & LED AIR HOCKEY: Give it a try on Merrimack St from 12 to 10 PM on Saturday.
