Celebrate Winter at Lowell Winterfest this weekend! This annual festival includes all kinds of fun, including kids activities, all-you-can-eat Chocolate Festival, music and a winter market. A perfect way to start school vacation week!
Overview and Logistics
Lowell Winterfest takes place in downtown Lowell. This year, most of the activities have moved to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium at 50 East Merrimack St. Music is outdoors in tents on the LMA plaza, while the Art Market and Soup Competition are inside the LMA. Kids activities are across Merrimack St at the MCC Parking Lot at 5 East Merrimack St. Parking is available just a block or two away, at the Market St. parking garage, the garage on John St, the garage at the Tsongas Center, or the parking garage on Warren St.
LMA ICE RINK: The Lowell Memorial Auditorium Plaza will feature an ice rink with on-site skate rentals available.
FOOD VENDORS: Food trucks will be set up on Brown St, on one side of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
ART MARKET: Stop into the Art Market inside the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on Saturday afternoon to shop from dozens of artisans and crafters.
CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL: St. Anne's Episcopal Church on Kirk St. hosts a fantastic all-you-can-eat chocolate festival on Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door.
KIDS' ACTIVITIES: The Family Fun Zone in the MCC Parking Lot at 5 East Merrimack St (across from the LMA) will feature games, a carousel, crafts, entertainment and more on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
SOUP COMPETITION: The Richard Rourke Memorial Soup Bowl Competition takes place on Saturday from 12-2:30 PM in the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Local restaurants and organizations serve delicious soups and chowders. Try them all and vote for your favorite! Tickets are $5 each and are available at the door. General admission to Lowell's Winterfest is FREE. Special parking rate at the John St., Market St. and Tsongas Center garages is $5.
