WESTFEST Food Truck Festival and Health & Wellness Fair on May 6

April 29, 2017

On Saturday, May 6, stop by the Abbot School in Westford for the WESTFEST Food Truck Festival and Health & Wellness Fair!  The Abbot School is located at 25 Depot Street in Westford, with plenty of parking.  Food trucks, vendors and a family festival will be under way on the side field (on Fisher Way, next to the parking lot) from 11 AM to 4 PM, and the Health & Wellness Fair will be open from 11 AM to 3 PM.  Both events are coordinated by Aunties Sweet Shop and the Westford Health Department and are free admission.  Tickets for children's activities and food truck prices start at $5.

“We are very excited to celebrate Westford’s community spirit with WESTFEST,” said Kat Rokita of Aunties Sweet Shop. “We made it our mission to create a family-focused Festival that supports local businesses, schools, non-profits and community groups. We have been met with such an overwhelming response by the community.”

Inside the school gym, the Westford Health Department will offer a FREE Health + Wellness Fair. More than 40 vendors will be on hand to educate visitors about local health and wellness offerings and provide interactive health and wellness screenings, demonstrations, raffle prizes and giveaways. Examples of FREE screenings and services include blood pressure, body mass index, pediatric dental, concussion education, elder services, mental health information, nutritional education, free children’s activities and much more. Additionally, Whole Foods Westford will provide healthy cooking demonstrations during the fair.

New activities in store for this year include a dunk tank sponsored by Goldfish Swim School with the chance to dunk Scott Middlemiss, assistant principal of Nabnasset and Abbot schools; a Touch a Truck event provided by the Westford Police and Fire departments; and a DJ generously sponsored by Bullwinkel & Brooks, LLC. The St. Martin Team at LAER Realty Partners will be back with their LAER Lion bounce house. And Gary Lavelle of CSA Graphics will have his t-shirt cannon on-site to launch WESTFEST tees into the crowd. Proceeds from children’s activities will benefit local community organizations and non-profits.

Lowell Macaroni Kid will be providing free children's crafts and giveaways in the side field, including phone number ID bracelets that children can make and wear at summer outings.

Food trucks currently planned for WESTFEST include Chicken on the Road, Uncle E's BBQ Express, The Roving Lunchbox, Vesta Wood-Fired Pizza, Spiceventure, Amigos Locos, Firebox BBQ, Compliments Food Co., The Cod Squad, and Aunties Sweet Shop.
