Make the most of winter at this weekend's Chelmsford Winterfest! Visit with your friends and neighbors at one (or many) of these local events, enjoy hearty foods, have fun with winter sports, and enjoy this crisp, beautiful season.
Winterfest includes events just for grown-ups and plenty of activities for all family members.
On Friday evening, enjoy Scottish Country Dancing at the Chelmsford Community Center in North Chelmsford from 7 to 9 PM for only $3 per dancer with a $10 family maximum orhead over to the Chelmsford Forum for free public skating (skate rentals are extra).
On Saturday, visit with Chelmsford Boy Scout Troop 75 on the common from 9:30 to 3:00 and enjoy a campfire, s'mores and winter survival activities. At 11 AM, head over to the Central Congregational Church for fun, games and raffles at the Central Co-operative Nursery School's annual Winter Carnival from 11 AM to 1 PM. Trinity Lutheran Church and Boy Scout Venturing Crew 7 will host two family-friendly escape rooms from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Looking for lunch? Visit the annual Chowder Fest at the Chelmsford Senior Center on Groton Rd from 11:30 to 3:30 PM. Chowder, hot dogs, apple crisp and baked goods will be available, plus kids games, balloons and more. Food prices vary. Another lunch alternative is the Girl Scouts' annual Malt Shop at the Journey Church on the Common, featuring grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, sundaes and poodle skirts!
