Do you use humidifiers in your house during the winter? If you don't, give one a try, especially in the bedroom. They can make a huge difference in your comfort level, since winter air is extremely dry.
We use humidifiers in most rooms but they drive me batty, quite honestly. Every one takes a different -- expensive -- filter, plus they need to be cleaned and refilled constantly, lugging enormous water tanks from the bathroom to each bedroom. I was intrigued when I received the new Vicks Mini Cool Mist Humidifier to test and review, since it's much smaller than the other ones we have and has no filter.
My daughter was waking up everyday with a sore throat and stuffy nose, and her large humidifier wasn't helping, even set to High (which is very loud). We decided to test the new Vicks humidifier right next to her bed, since it's so small. We set it up on her bedside stand, where it fits perfectly. Our humidifier is blue, but it also comes in pink and green. The tank is small and easy to fill in the bathroom sink, and one fill will last for two days (I only run it at night). It's very quiet, although there are some dripping and burbling sounds, and you can see the mist, which helped us to aim it at the most effective location for her.
The Vicks Mini Cool Mist humidifier immediately made a difference for Megan. We tested it against her old humidifer for a few nights, and it was definitely more effective so we switched over to using it exclusively. On nights when it's super-cold or she already has a sore throat due to a cold, we turn it up a bit higher so she can get more mist. There's also a place where you can place a Vicks VapPad for relief when you're congested, although we haven't tried that feature yet.
