Enjoy Winter Fun at Lowell Winterfest!

Celebrate Winter at Lowell Winterfest this weekend!  This annual festival includes all kinds of fun, including kids activities, kids shows, music and a winter market.  A perfect way to start school vacation week!

Overview and Logistics

Lowell Winterfest takes place in downtown Lowell.  This year, most of the activities have moved to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium at 50 East Merrimack St.  Music is outdoors in tents on the LMA plaza, while the Art Market and Soup Competition are inside the LMA. Parking is available just a block or two away, at the Market St. parking garage, the Davidson St. garage, the garage on John St, or the parking garage on Warren St. 

The Cool Bus will provide transportation for St. Anne's Church (Merrimack St.) to LMA from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, February 18th. 

2023 Attractions:

MUSIC:  A variety of bands, including Xtine and the Intents and The Collection, will perform in tents on the Lowell Memorial Auditorium Plaza music tent and the Brown Street music tent.  See the performance schedule.

FOOD VENDORS:  Food trucks will be set up on the Gervais Lot, across from Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

ENTERTAINMENT: Bonaparte, Mike the Bubble Guy, Dinoman! and Cirque de Light will perform on the LMA Plaza and LMA Plaza Music Tent.  See the schedule and our Cirque de Light video below!

ART MARKET:  Stop into the Art Market inside the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on Saturday and Sunday afternoon to shop from dozens of artisans and crafters.

KIDS' ACTIVITIES: Winterfest will be loaded with lots of great kids's activities! Shows include Bonaparte Magic Show (Sat. 12pm, LMA Plaza Music Tent), Bubbles McGee (Sat. 12:45pm & 2pm, LMA Plaza), Dinoman! (Sat. 1:15pm, LMA Plaza Music Tent), Marshmallow Roasting Station ( Fri. & Sat. Gervais Parking Lot) and more. Please note: The bubble show will be cancelled, if temperatures are below 37 degrees.

SOUP COMPETITION: The Richard Rourke Memorial Soup Bowl Competition takes place on Saturday from 12-2:30 PM in the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Local restaurants and organizations serve delicious soups and chowders. Try them all and vote for your favorite!  Tickets are $5 each and are available at the door.  See this year's list of competitors and the soups they will be serving

Admission

General admission to Lowell's Winterfest is FREE. 

Admission to special events as follows:

  • Soup Competition: $5 per person. Tickets available day of only
